Structure

The CFVC operates as a partnership, rather than a legal entity, such as a charitable trust or company.   It operates within a strategy agreed, created and approved by the Reference Group (the wider network of all member organisations).

It is governed and overseen by a Steering Group, which is elected by the Reference Group.

Steering Group elections take place every two years.

The Reference Group is an open membership, offered at no cost, to any organisation, network or independent practitioner who works with people impacted by family and/or sexual violence. If you are interested in join our mailing list, message us here

REFERENCE GROUP

STEERING GROUP

The Reference Group is an open membership group comprised of any organisation, network or independent practitioner who works with people impacted by family and/or sexual violence. It endeavours to be actively reflective of our wider community, and inclusive of diverse and vulnerable groups.

The Reference Group guides the development of CFVC Strategy and work plans by:

  • Identifying the resources, support and skills required to deliver the CFVC Strategy

  • Providing information and ideas to support the successful implementation of the Strategy

  • Supporting the implementation of the Strategy across Canterbury.

The Reference Group is Co-Chaired by two current members of the CFVC, one of which is required to be a Kaupapa Māori representative, who will ensure a cultural lens is placed on all work undertaken.

Reference group hui take place at least four times per year. These hui typically include an update on activities that the Steering Group has planned, or undertaken, on behalf of the Collaboration; time to network and connect; and learning opportunities, with invited speakers sharing knowledge on relevant topics or issues identified by Collaboration members.

See when the next Reference Group hui is scheduled.
